GREEN GATES ACCESS STATEMENT

At Green Gates we aim to provide guests with information which summarises all the services and facilities we offer.

PRE-ARRIVAL

Green Gates is located in Exeter Road – A361, which is the main road into the village of Braunton.

There are bus stops very close to Green Gates.

The nearest railway station is Barnstaple approximately 5 miles away.

It is a 5 minute walk into Braunton along the Exeter road which has flat pavements on each side.

Details of local taxi firms are held at reception.

Information can be provided in large print but we do not have the facility to provide information in Braille.

Our website www.green-gates.co.uk gives full information about the services we offer and also provides photographs of the accommodation. It also provides details of our tariff and terms and conditions.

ARRIVAL AND PARKING

Green Gates is accessed through gates. These are open during the day and closed late in the evening.

There is ample car parking directly outside the house on the driveway.

The driveway is tarmac and slightly sloping down towards the gates.

The car parking area is illuminated at night by a P.I.R sensor.

We are happy to assist with luggage.

PORCH & RECEPTION

There is one step up to enter the porch through double doors. The floor is tiled and has a non slip mat at the door entrance.

There is a further step up through the main front door into the hall.

The hall has a traditional tiled floor.

Level access to the dining room is from the hall.

STAIRCASE

The staircase to the three bedrooms is carpeted. There are 10 steps with a banister on the left hand side to a half landing. 4 further steps with a balustrade on the left to reach the full landing.

Lighting on the staircase is activated via an automatic P.I.R sensor in the landing ceiling.

There is a borrow box with night lights, non slip bath mats, extension cables and other useful items.

DOUBLE ROOM

Level access from the landing into the bedroom.

The main bedroom is carpeted. The bed is a standard double at a height of 20" and has access from both sides. There are bedside cabinets and lamps on each side. There is a torch in the bedside drawer.

There is an occasional chair.

The TV/DVD is wall mounted and has a remote control. The hospitality tray is on the chest of drawers and the electric points are at skirting level.

The en suite has a tiled floor and there is a low edge to step over into the shower cubicle. The electric switch for the shower is adjacent to the top of the door in the bedroom.

SUITE ROOM

Level access from the landing into the sitting room. There is a sofa (daybed) and an armchair. The TV/DVD is wall mounted and has a remote control.

There is level access through a door into the main bedroom. The bed is a standard bed at a height of 20" and has access from both sides. There are bedside cabinets and lamps on each side. There is a torch in the drawer.

The TV is wall mounted and has a remote control. The hospitality tray is on the chest of drawers and electric sockets are at skirting level.

The two rooms are carpeted.

The floor of the en suite shower room, which has level access, is tiled.

There is a low ridge to step over into the shower cubicle.

The electric switch for the shower is adjacent to the top of the door in the bedroom.

TWIN/TRIPLE ROOM

Level access from the landing into the bedroom.

There is a standard single bed in the first area, access from one side only.

There is one step down into the main bedroom, where there are 2 standard single beds with access from both sides. There are bedside cabinets and lamps on each side. There is a torch in the drawer.

The hospitality try is on the chest of drawers and electric sockets are at skirting level.

The TV/DVD is on the top of the midi height wardrobe and there is a remote control.

Both parts of the room are carpeted.

The bathroom has level access from the first area and has a tiled floor. There is a bath with a shower over. The electric switch for the shower is a pull cord adjacent to the light switch.

DINING ROOM

Level access from the hall. The floor is carpeted.

There are three dining tables with high backed wooden chairs. There is also a sofa.

Background music will be played at breakfast.

We are happy to cater for special diets as long as prior notice is given.

Part of the breakfast is self service from the sideboard with hot beverages and main courses served to you from the kitchen.

 

GENERAL

All rooms have thermostatically controlled radiators.

The bathrooms in the double and suite have extractor fans.

There are mains linked smoke alarms in all rooms, together with fire notices.

There are water fire extinguishers on the landing and in the hall.

Green Gates has been has been through a fire risk assessment.

We have been rated 5star (highest award) on the Score on the Doors system awarded by the local council and supported by the Food Standards Agency.

Mrs Leaper also holds a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering awarded by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
